Vern Schwab
When Vern Schwab immigrated from Germany in the 1950s, he already possessed a law degree from Germany, but he was nonetheless enthusiastic about gaining a Canadian law degree from the University of Alberta.
After gaining his LL.B. in 1958 and articling with Bishop & Mckenzie, Vern immediately created his own law office. Beginning in criminal and civil law Vern made his name known in the German Canadian community and eventually moved into the corporate and aviation law space.
Vern was later joined by both his daughters and, briefly, his son in law. Today the office he began is led by his middle daughter Ruth Schwab.
